A mountain walk in Connemara
Enjoy hill walking? This is the walk for you. In the heart of Connemara are The Twelve Bens (ben is gaelic for peak); a mountain range of mostly quarzite summits and ridges.
We will climb three of the Twelve Bens: Ben Lettery (518 m), Ben Glenisky (517 m) and Bengower (664 m) on the South West flank of the Bens. On the peaks, you will see some rare species of alpine plants and upland blanket bog.
You will hear the history of the Ballynahinch estate – and the story about Richard Martin, known as Humanity Dick, and his island castle…
- Experienced and qualified local guide
- Tea or coffee and homemade biscuits
If you like, we can also provide a packed lunch supplied by the Connemara Hamper. Price: 12€
